Ghana’s Sulley Muntari joins Deportivo La Coruna on trial

Deportivo La Coruna coach Clarence Seedorf has offered former AC Milan and Udinese star Sulley Muntari a trial with his La Liga side.

Seedorf who was appointed the Blues and Whites boss this week is ready to evaluate the 2008 English FA Cup winner who has been without a club since he left Pescara last summer.

Muntari played alongside the former Netherlands international at AC Milan before the latter took charge of the Rossoneri's managerial seat in 2014.

The Ghana international enjoyed a trophy-laden career in the Italy with AC Milan, Inter Milan and Udinese. He also had brief spells in the English Premier League with Sunderland and Portsmouth where he played a key role in guiding the Pompey to win the English FA Cup in 2008.

Muntari’s move to the Estadio Riazor could boost Deportivo's relegation fight as they are currently placed 18th in the Spanish top-flight table with 17 points from 22 games.

"Sulleyman Ali Muntari [Konongo, Ghana, August 27, 1984] will land tonight at 11:15 p.m. at the Alvedro Airport to join tomorrow Friday the 9th to Deportivo training at the Sports City of Abegondo," read a club statement.

"The Ghanaian international will train with the blue and white team to evaluate a possible final incorporation to the sports team."

Deportivo La Coruna will host Real Betis at the Estadio Riazor for their next La Liga fixture on Monday night.
