Lifelong Liverpool fan and Wests Tigers hooker Robbie Farah had given up hope of attending the Reds Champions League final against Tottenham on Sunday (AEST) until a certain Steven Gerrard stepped in.
Farah is one of few diehard Liverpool fans that have Gerrard's phone number to call on and the NRL veteran made the most of it with the current Rangers manager coming through with the goods at late notice.
"I’d given up on going over," Farah told The Daily Telegraph.
"Last week I got a message from Steven Gerrard. He said I’ve got you a ticket. I got to know him the couple of times he has been out here.
“I messaged him when they made the finals, to see if he had any contacts for tickets because me and my brothers were keen to get over.
“He replied saying leave it with me. I never thought anything of it, thinking he’d have a million requests for tickets. Then he messaged me telling me he had one for me.
"I asked how much I owed him and he said nothing."
With the Tigers fortunately handed a bye this weekend, Farah has been granted leave to attend the match in Spain.
His coach Michael Maguire allowing Farah to fulfill his football fantasy willing he flew business class and was back in Australia by Monday.
