Ulinzi stars have expressed interest in taking part in the 2018 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup with barely five days remaining to the closure of the registration deadline.
The club chairman Erick Oloo confirmed the Soldiers will compete in the league competition whose winner will represent Kenya in the Caf Confederation Cup in 2019.
The knockout tournament is scheduled to kickoff in May and run all the way to October 2018.
“We will participate; we’ll be paying the registration fee this week to secure our place in the competition,” Oloo told the club website.
“This is a ticket to continental football and so it ranks as a very important competition for us. I believe after the 2016 experience, where we got to the final, we now have a better team and a better chance to go for the title. We are motivated to better the performance then,” he added.
Teams looking to take part in the competition will have to take part with a Sh30,000 registration fee ahead of the set deadline of 30th April.
The draw is set for May 10th and the first round played between May 18th and 20th.
The tournament brings together a total of 64 teams, 30th April 2018 – Deadline for submission and payment.
