Black Friday is one of the busiest times of the year in FIFA, with many special pack offers, objectives and challenges throughout the weekend

One of the most anticipated weekends of the year for shoppers is approaching, Black Friday has finally arrived, providing discounts and deals from retailers all around the world. Not only can you get televisions, clothes and other items at sale prices, there is also value to be found in FIFA 19 as Black Friday and Cyber Monday come to Ultimate Team.

In previous years, the Black Friday weekend has seen hourly pack offers, special Squad Building Challenges (SBCs), special Daily Objectives and even daily rewards in FIFA Ultimate Team. In addition, there is also an annual Black Friday kit available for players who want to give a new dark feel to their team.

FIFA 19 promises to be no different, so what can football fans expect to find this Black Friday?

When does Black Friday weekend start in FIFA 19?

This year, Black Friday takes place on November 23, the day after Thanksgiving in the United States. The Friday after Thanksgiving has traditionally been seen as the start of Christmas shopping in the U.S., but the phenomenon spread outside America in the early 2010s and is now a worldwide event as shoppers look for bargains online and in high-street stores.

Black Friday will kick off in FIFA 19 on November 23 at 2 p.m. UK time with pack offers for 24 hours as well as SBCs and Objectives that are available all weekend. Pack offers will also resume on Cyber Monday, which takes place on November 26. These pack offers will also last for 24 hours, finishing up on Tuesday, November 27.

What pack offers are available for Black Friday?

FIFA 19 Ultimate Team

On Black Friday and Cyber Monday, there will be hourly pack offers available in FIFA Ultimate Team. This includes limited availability packs such as Mega Packs, Premium Player Packs and other special packs that are not usually available in the store.

The limited availability packs are sometimes limited to a maximum number of packs sold throughout the community e.g. once 10,000 packs are sold, they are no longer available. On other occasions, they will have an infinite community supply, but be limited to a certain amount per customer.

Some packs will also be discounted from the original price, with 25 per cent and 50% reductions even available. These are usually the most limited of packs and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

What SBCs will there be for Black Friday?

There will be a variety of Squad Building Challenges during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, offering a variety of rewards for submitting teams that match the requirements.

These include SBCs that will last the duration of the weekend, as well as special one-off Flash SBCs which last only an hour or two hours and give much better rewards than usual. Some of these Flash SBCs even include special players or a guarantee of a random high-rated player as a prize.

Most of the SBCs will give packs as rewards, including both tradeable and untradeable packs. As Black Friday falls during the second FUTSwap period, it is likely that there will also be a FUTSwap player as a reward over the Black Friday weekend.

Will the Transfer Market crash?

FIFA 19 Packs

Ahead of Black Friday, many FIFA gamers will start selling some of their most valuable assets in order to gain coins that can be used to buy discounted packs. Some players also sell their stars in the hope that they can buy the same players back for a lower price, anticipating a transfer market crash for Black Friday. This usually sees player prices drop in the week or two before the event, with people undercutting each other when listing players on the transfer market.

Additionally, all the extra discounted and special packs available over the weekend from Black Friday to Cyber Monday means there are more players listed on the market, affecting the supply and demand of players. The greatest price crash is seen in rare golds with low ratings as there are so many of these players opened in packs. Icons and players rated 90 or over may drop in price a small amount, but not by as much as the lower-rated players.
