FC Ifeanyiubah's Chijioke Alaekwe has described as worrisome the club’s current position in the league table and has declared their Oriental Derby clash with Heartland slated for Nnewi on Sunday as a must win to ensure they are out of the relegation zone.

The Anambra Warriors have won only two games and drew one in the topflight this season but have been beaten four times in all their away matches and Alaekwe in a chat hinted that they must find a way to claim the maximum points against the Naze Millionaires to douse the tension in the club.

“It has been a very tough season for us and the home draw to Akwa United was the height of it. We have not been doing well in our away matches also and it is a major source of worry to everyone in the club,” Alaekwe told Goal.

“We are not where we ought to be in the league table and we must do everything to ensure that we make our fans happy by returning to winning ways starting from the game with Heartland. They are in form by the result they had in Lokoja against Niger Tornadoes where we were beaten narrowly. We must find a way to beat them no matter how tough the game will be.

“We need a win badly in the weekend game to start our rebirth in the league season. A win in the Oriental Derby could be tonic we need for us to spring back to life,” he stressed.

FC Ifeanyiubah are 17th in the league table with seven points from seven games.
