Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has intensified his training schedules to return to full fitness in his native country.

The 32-year-old, who made only 12 league appearances for Kayserispor in the Turkish top-flight last season, scoring one goal, joined former IBO World Lightweight champion Emmanuel 'Game Boy' Tagoe to fine tune on a beach in Accra on Monday.

The former Sunderland star accepted a 50-60 per cent pay cut in order to retain his place in the Kayserispor set-up.

Tagoe boasts of 28 wins including 14 knockouts and one defeat. He lost his IBO belt after pulling out of a fight with mandatory challenger Fedor Papazov in May.

He is on the books of Gyan's boxing promotion firm called Baby Jet promotion.
