The 47-year-old has been without a job ever since parting ways with Matsatsantsa following a disappointing spell of results. But while Tinkler struggled in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), he steered SuperSport to an MTN8 triumph before furthering his reputation on the continent as he guided the Tshwane-based outfit to their very first continental final in their history.
Tinkler would then be replaced by assistant coach Kaitano Tembo who would stop the rot and ensure that SuperSport would compete in the top flight next season.
Nonetheless, ahead of the 2018/19 campaign, Tinkler’s reputation has certainly not gone unnoticed as he has revealed that he is not short on offers. Previous reports suggested that there were clubs as far as North Africa interested in his services, and according to the former Bafana Bafana midfielder an overseas offer as well as two local offers are currently on the table.
However, while Tinkler admits his desire to return to the hot seat, he will only do so if the right offer comes his way.
“I definitely want to get back into coaching next season but it has to be the right offer,” Tinkler told Phakaaathi.
“I have a few offers, two local and one overseas, I can’t say in which province. But I have offers,” he added.
Tinkler though, has remained mum on the identity of the interested teams, refusing to comment whether or not one of the teams is Platinum Stars. Dikwena were recently relegated under the mentorship of co-owner and coach Roger De Sa.
“I can’t do it [tell you], for the right offer like I said I will agree,” Tinkler concluded.
