“It is going to be a tough game because they won't like to lose another game. They are a good side and they showed us that with the way they played without fear in Port Harcourt. We have trained very well and I think we are ready for this.

“We must believe in ourselves and play with courage knowing that a good result will be vital for our qualification for the quarter-final. We have the mentality and the strength to battle all obstacles. Williamsville can’t stop us because we know what we must do to record a positive result.”

The former Akwa United striker could be involved in his first competitive start in over 10 months after his recovery from injury and he says he is looking forward to the prospect with calmness.

He said it would be an emotional moment for him judging by what he had passed through while out injured but promised to give a good account of himself if he is fielded.

“It is going to be an emotional moment for me because so many thoughts had come through my head but I am grateful to God that he has interceded and has made me victorious,” he continued.

“It is going to be difficult too knowing that I have stayed out for a long time. I am calm about everything and I just want to assure my fans that I won’t disappoint them. We are going to Abidjan to secure a result that will take us closer to the quarter-final stage.”
