Sporting director Bruno Hubner believes the return of the attacker to action will aid their ambitions as the season draws to a close

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Bruno Hubner is hoping for Kevin-Prince Boateng's quick return to action following their disappointing showing against Bayern Munich on Saturday.

The Eagles were left distraught at the Allianz Arena after a 4-1 defeat to The Bavarians in the Bundesliga

Boateng was a notable absentee in the fixture, having failed to recover from an injury picked up during the German Cup clash with Schalke 04 two weeks back.

"The squad went on a long run in the forest on Sunday to clear their heads, while the reserves trained," Hubner said, as reported by his club's official website.

"We’ve also told the lads that we need to get back on track together.

"Now’s not the time for a knee-jerk reaction; we’ll be approaching the final two Bundesliga games with the same professionalism and ambition as always.

"Hamburg will certainly come here with confidence but we’re at home and we want to do everything we can, along with our supporters, to get the three points.

"Obviously we’re also hoping that key players like Kevin-Prince Boateng, Ante Rebic and David Abraham are back in the team as soon as possible.

"Everyone throughout the club is working hard to make sure we finish the season as strongly as possible."

Frankfurt, who sit seventh on the league table, have three games in all to end the season.

The Eagles will face Hamburg and Schalke in the Bundesliga before facing Bayern in the final of the German Cup on May 19.

Boateng, who joined Frankfurt last summer, has so far made 29 league appearances involving 25 starts and six goals for Niko Kovac's outfit.
