Chippa United have reappointed Daniel 'Dan' Malesela as their head coach ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
The local tactician has returned to the Chilli Boys having been fired by the Port Elizabeth-based club in September 2017.
Malesela was replaced by fellow former Orlando Pirates player Teboho Moloi, who guided Chippa until he was replaced by Vladislav Heric in March 2018 with the team flirting with relegation.
The Serbian trainer managed to ensure that the Chilli Boys retained their status in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) as they finished 10th on the standings.
However, Chippa club chairman Siviwe 'Chippa' Mpengisi has now decided to bring back Masalesa, who guided the team to a historic top eight finish during the 2015/16 campaign.
A club statement read: "Dan Malesela will make a return to Chippa United next season, Chairman Siviwe Mpengesi announced today."
Heric, who is a former Ajax Cape Town reserve team head coach, will now serve as one of the Chilli Boys' development academy coaches.
"CUFC’s longest serving coach, Dan Malesela will take over the reins from Vladislav Heric who will move over to the Development."
"Mbuyiselo Sambu will assist Malesela," another statement read.
Malesela, who captained both Mamelodi Sundowns and Pirates during his playing days, coached United FC and Cape Town All Stars in the National First Division (NFD), before joining Chippa in December, 2015 as an assistant coach.
He took over as the new Chilli Boys head coach after the Eastern Cape-based club parted ways with Roger Sikhakhane in In February, 2016.
Chippa made the announcement on their official Twitter page:
