Coastal-based side Mwatate FC has progressed top the last sixteen of the Shield Cup after the National Super League side Ushuru FC failed travel.
The two teams were set to face each other on Saturday, but Goal understands the cash-strapped Ushuru got the logistics wrong, prompting Football Kenya Federation to hand the minnows a walk over.
Last weekend, Goal revealed the in-house wrangles that has seen the side use worn out uniforms for their league matches, and it seems things are just not working as the second tier enters a critical stage.
Our efforts to reach club officials proved futile as the calls went unanswered. The club is currently top of the NSL table with thirty-eight points, one more than second placed Western Stima.
