The Black Stars will continue their fine tuning with a friendly against the Porcupine Warriors after the Afcon qualifier was put off

Following the cancellation of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Sierra Leone, Ghana have now switched attention to local giants Asante Kotoko for a friendly at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday.

The Black Stars began fine tuning for the qualifiers in Kumasi on Monday, but with Sierra Leone FA failing to meet the requirements of Fifa following the country's government interference, the world football's body held on to a ban issued last week.

According to Fifa, until the ousted Isha Johansen-led administration of the football association is reinstated, Sierra Leone cease to be part of its member association.

"The Black Stars will play Asante Kotoko in a friendly match on Friday, October 12, at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi. Kick off time will be 4pm," a statement by the Normalisation Committee read.

"As a sign of patriotism, the Black Stars players have indicated their willingness to show their love and appreciation for the fans and will play the Kotoko game free of charge," the statement added.

Meanwhile, Ethiopia will host Kenya in the other game of Group F before the return leg takes place in Nairobi over the weekend.

Goal understands that the Normalisation Committee is also on the lookout for another friendly game for the Black Stars before they are allowed to join their respective clubs.
