Anthony Nwakaeme end barren spell in Hapoel Be'er Sheva victory

The Nigerian finally brought an end to his barren spell after going five games without scoring a single goal when he netted in the Camels’ away win

Anthony Nwakaeme powered his team to a 2-1 away victory against Maccabi Petach Tikva in an Israeli topflight game played on Sunday.

The 28-year-old put equalised for his team in the 43rd minute after Gidi Kanuk’s 32nd minute penalty had put the hosts ahead.

And in the 52nd minute, Ben Sahar got the winner for the Camels as they their 21st win of the season to remain atop the Ligat HaAl log – six points ahead of second placed Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The goal comes as a big relief for Nwakaeme who had gone five games without finding the back of the net.
