Allan Wanga is set to return to training with Kenya Premier League champions Tusker FC after taking time off to recover from a car accident scare.

Wanga has been missing in Tusker’s last two league matches and Goal can authoritatively reveal that the Harambee Stars striker was involved in a road accident a few weeks ago.

“I was involved in an accident but there is nothing serious. Just a few knocks on the knee,” Wanga told Goal.

“I was left in shock after the car rolled several times but the doctors recommended that I have some bed rest,” said the former Azam FC player.

Wanga is set to return to training next week and his presence will be of much help to coach George Nsimbe, whose side has not been posting some good result of late.

“I intend to give my best when I return but the current situation is nothing to worry about. It is normal for a team to have some bad run and I hope things will improve. Tusker has some good players and the current (poor) form cannot be equated to my absence."

Tusker lost to Posta Rangers by a solitary goal in their last league outing, a result that has seen them drop down the league table.

The latest incident comes exactly two years after Wanga and his family were involved in another accident along Naivasha-Nairobi Highway in June 2015.
