Al Ahly’s Junior Ajayi linked with Sporting Lisbon

The Nigeria international’s exploits in the Egyptian top-flight has caught the attention of the Primeira Liga side

Junior Ajayi’s impressive form this season has reportedly drawn interest from Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon.

Since his arrival from CS Sfaxien in August 2016, Ajayi has scored 21 goals and provided 18 assists in 71 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions. The former Shooting Stars forward has also won two Egyptian Premier League with the Red Devils.

KingFut reports that the 22-year-old’s impressive form in front of goal might have caught the eye of Sporting’s director, Augusto Inacio – former Zamalek manager who is credited for the signing of Islam Slimani from CR Belouizdad in 2013.

The Olympic Bronze medalist could become the second Nigerian to feature for the Lisbon-based club after Emmanuel Amuneke who played for the Lions between 1994 and 1996.
