The veteran striker reveals to Goal that he has sorted out issues with the new coach and vows to repay club fans with a trophy

AFC Leopards striker Ezekiel Odera has rubbished reports indicating that he is leaving the Den for Tusker FC.

Goal exclusively reported two weeks ago that the former Nairobi City Stars striker was on his way out of the club after falling out with new coach Nikola Kovazovic, in attempts to force a transfer move to Tusker.

However, Odera, who was the club’s top scorer with 13 goals last season, has told Goal that he has a contract with the twelve-time league champions and is not leaving.

“No! I am not going anywhere, my contract with AFC Leopards is still running and that means I am still with the team. I don’t have any intentions to leave and I have not held any talks with Tusker, those are just baseless rumors that are meant to unsettle me and the team.”

Odera, however, admits that he irked the new coach after missing training for two days but insists the issue has now been sorted. “It is true, I missed training for two days and it is something that did not go down well with the coach but we talked on Wednesday and everything is okay now. Let the fans support us, we promise to give our best this season,” Odera told Goal.com.

Odera will now have to fight for a place in the team with new Zimbabwean striker Michelle Katsvairo. Ingwe will start their challenge for the title with a clash against Kariobangi Sharks on December 8.
