Isaac Kipyegon was on target twice as AFC Leopards defeated Ulinzi Stars 2-1 in a pre-season friendly match played on Saturday at Hope Center Kawangware.

The 30-year left-back, who was signed from Zoo Kericho in November, has gone ahead to prove that he will be a valuable player for Ingwe. AFC Leopards Operations Manager Tom Juma has revealed why Ingwe went for Kipyegon.

"Kipyegon is a very good player since his times at Zoo; he really caused us a lot of trouble any time we played his former side. With Moses Mburu injured, we had to find someone who can help us and that is why we went for him. He has already proved that he is the right person for us.

"He might be thirty years, but what he does on the pitch defies that, he is very athletic and fit, I think it is because of his lifestyle; we are happy to have him in our team."

Ingwe will be facing Kariobangi Sharks in the 2018/19 Kenyan Premier League season opener on Sunday.
