The former Ghana youth star says he has not been lucky in his bid to represent the country at senior level

Former Berekum Chelsea striker Sadick Adams believes he has been unlucky with national team call ups despite his consistent performance at club level.

The 26-year-old, who is currently on loan at Cyprus giants Turk Ocagi Limassol, was overlooked by Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah in a 30-man list which will play Ethiopia in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying next month.

The squad will also face Mexico and United States of America in international friendlies two weeks later.

“After taking a critical look at the national teams, I always say I am not lucky with call ups to represent Ghana," Adams told Space FM .

“From the U-17, U-20 and U-23 level, there have always been several issues surrounding my invitations. However, I am ever ready to honour an invitation to be part of the Black Stars.

“Currently, the team is made up of the players I previously played with in the junior teams, unlike previously when it wasn’t easy to join and command a starting a place in the team.

“This was because there were senior players like Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, Sulley Ali Muntari but they're no more so I am ever ready when Kwesi Appiah invites me," he added.

Adams was part of the Ghana squad that finished fourth at the 2007 Fifa U-17 World Cup.
