Destiny Ashadi's 58th minute strike was not enough to help the Chanji Boys escape defeat as they bowed no thanks to Junior Lokosa's brace plus Nyima Nwagua's effort for the Sai Masu Gida Boys.
Explaining the loss, the former Abia Warriors gaffer blamed it on their loss of concentration and wastefulness but remains adamant they will make it up against Henry Abiodun's men.
"It was sad we lost despite putting up our best and fought hard against Kano Pillars," Biffo told Goal.
"We went to Kano with high hopes and believe that we could get something to improve our position and confidence as a team.
"Though we must partly blame ourselves because we missed a lot of scoring chances and lost concentration at some crucial moments of the match.
"We have put the loss behind us and looking forward to our next game. We must try to correct our mistakes and prepare well to be able to bounce back against Sunshine Stars."
Despite the defeat, Katsina United are still fifth with 30 points from 21 games and will seek to return to winning ways against the Owena Whales.
