Sofapaka - Gor Mahia Preview: K'Ogalo start life minus Ze Maria

Goal Kenya.
K'Ogalo will be brimming with confidence after their hugely successful Super Cup campaign in Tanzania last week

It is going to be the biggest match of the weekend without doubt, considering both sides are targeting maximum points.

Batoto ba Mungu have lost several players including play maker Charles Okwemba, but they have recruited enough players, who are experienced and capable of causing an upset against any team. A win for Gor Mahia will ensure they remain on top of the table for another week, while three points for Sam Ssimbwa's side will reduce the gap to four points after match day 14.

K'Ogalo, who start life minus former coach Ze Maria, come into the match as favourites considering they have won seven, drawn seven and lost just two of the last sixteen matches between the two sides. The last time Sofapaka beat K’Ogalo was in October 2014 in Machakos. Since that chaotic 3-2 defeat, Gor Mahia has won three of their last five meetings.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Sofapaka: Defender Wesley Onguso has been doing well for Western Stima, and he will be playing against a team that mostly uses flanks. If he manages to stop them, it will be a plus for his team. Midfielder Hillary Echesa has continued to do better even at his age. He should not be given space at all.

Gor Mahia: Boniface Oluoch has been solid for his team in the past thirteen matches, and he will be needed to effectively command his area. Timothy Otieno has been impressive of late, and his exploits in Dar es Salaam are a boost to his confidence.
