Re-LIVE: DSK Shivajians 1-1 Churchill Brothers

Dave Rogers began with the same side that beat Chennai City, while Alfred Fernandes made two changes, bringing in Bektur Talgat for Kingslee Fernandes, while Agnelo Colaco was replaced by U22 professional Chesterpoul Lyngdoh.

The match began with Churchill Brothers dominating proceedings and it was no surprise when the away side created the first real opportunity of the match. Brandon Fernandes' free-kick into the box wasn't dealt with correctly by Soram Anganba in goal. The opportunity fell to defender Rowilson Rodrigues, who fired over from ten yards out with the empty goal staring at him.

Churchill were made to pay in what was a classic sucker punch, when slack defending allowed Seong-Yong to nip in and slot a ball into the net in the 22nd miute, handing the Reds the lead.

Shillong Lajong relieved with first win

The home side could have doubled their advantage in the 28th minute through Chhangte but Priyant Singh came to Churchill's rescue as he pulled off a blinder of a save from point blank range. The home team clicked into action again but Chhagnte missed yet another sitter, heading comfortably into Singh's hands when offered a free-header.

Churchill threatened sporadically, but couldn't muster enough in the half to seriously threaten Anganba, who pulled off a regulation save in the 44th minute from Brandon's long range effort.

The second half never really got into groove until the 77th minute. Wolfe stole the edge over his marker in the box and shot with power only to see the shot rebound off the bar and back into open play. Halicharan Nazary tried to cover the ball from a Churchill attacker, but the touch he got on the player subsequently saw him concede a penalty to the away side.

Wolfe however criminally missed the chance shooting tamely and aiding an Anganba save, his second of three penalty saves at the ground.

The Red Machines piled on the pressure though and were rewarded four minutes from the end of regulation time. An inswinging corner from Anthony D'Souza picked out Adil Khan in the centre of the penalty box. The defender made no mistake in nodding home the corner, to tie Churchill Brothers on the evening.

The home Reds came close to taking the lead late in the game, but Sanju Pradhan somehow missed a clear chance.

The game ended with the two teams sharing the spoils.
