Commentary

That's all from us! Thanks for joining us for this Champions League clash between Manchester City and Napoli.
FULL TIME! City are sitting pretty at the top of their Champions League group after seeing off their biggest test yet in this group. Guardiola's side exerted their dominance in the early stages, and despite two penalties for Napoli the away team were unable to muster a point from this fixture.
90' + 3' Manchester City are finally looking to play some negative football as they look to hold the ball in the corner for the final couple of minutes. Whilst Napoli have been the better side of late, the hosts certainly deserves the three points from this one.
90' + 1' We're into the added time now and City are looking to hold on in this fixture as Napoli push more and more men forward as they search for the equaliser at the Etihad Stadium. The Serie A side have turned up the heat in these final stages!
89' SAVE! Gundogan had the opportunity to kill the match off for Manchester City with the German getting some room to shoot inside the box. However, his effort was straight at Reina who managed to push the ball away.
87' Guardiola is shifting towards a more defensive set-up now as we enter the final minutes by introducing Danilo for Jesus. The hosts will be sitting deeper now to maintain their 100% record in Group F.
Danilo
Gabriel Jesus
87' A defensive sub for Manchester City as Danilo comes on for Jesus.
85' Napoli are really pressing the home side now! The Serie A side can sense a route back into the match and a dangerous cross to the back post had to be turned behind by Otamendi to stop Mertens from getting a shot off.
83' CLOSE! Some neat work from Napoli, in particular a fantastic touch from Mertens to lay the ball off to Ounas on the edge of the box, but the Algerian was unable to connect cleanly with his shot and Ederson was able to gather with ease.
81' Mertens almost gets another for Napoli as the striker is threaded through the middle by Callejon, but he is unable to get a clear effort on goal under pressure from Otamendi.

E. Hysaj

67' There's a brief stoppage in play as Davild Silva goes down following a clash of heads and receives some medical attention, as does Hysaj who was part of the collision. It seems as if both will be able to continue, though.
65' MORE CRIES FOR A PENALTY! Napoli get a corner, but they wanted more. Mertens squared the ball to Hamsik past Ederson but Stones launched himself in front of the shot to turn the effort wide for the set-piece and keep the score 2-0.
63' Cries for a penalty from the Napoli fans as Walker gets his body across Zielinski as the midfielder went to shoot, but the referee deemed it a fair tackle despite him going to ground and waved play on.
61' City haven't had quite the same command this half as they did in the first, although they still have a 54% share of possession.
59' Callejon attempted to make a dashing run behind the Manchester City defence without being picked up, but Hamsik was unable to find the winger with his floated pass towards the back post.
57' Insigne is replaced. The Italian was limping and has signalled to the bench to come off, bringing Allan into the match.
Allan
L. Insigne
56' Allan comes on for Insigne.
55' It's another bright start to the half from both sides, who are looking to continue the attacking football. It's making for a refreshing atmosphere in the Etihad Stadium as both sets of supporters cheer their sides on.
53' It's been a fantastic standard of football thus far. In fairness to Napoli they haven't wilted and are continuing to impose their own style of play on the match.
50' A wasted opportunity for City! Silva was driving at the Napoli defence with Sane galloping up his left unmarked, but the captain opted against the pass and Albiol did well for Napoli to get a tackle in on his countryman.
48' Neat football on the edge of the Manchester City area from Ghoulam, Mertens and Hamsik, but the latter of the trio misplaced his pass into the path of Otamendi who was able to clear the danger.
46' Napoli get the second half underway!
HALF TIME! The referee blows the whistle on the 45 minute mark and City head into the break with a 2-0 lead. In truth, there could have been another three goals in this match already, so stay tuned for what the second half will bring!

37' Walker gets a yellow card for his foul on Albiol.
37' Almost an opportunity for Napoli as Mertens found himself in some room on the edge of the box, but a poor touch from the Belgian meant he was unable to find Hamsik who was overlapping in some room and Fernandinho got a touch in to bring the attack to the end.
35' Fernandinho had the ball punted clear to him by Albiol about 25 yards from goal, but rather than thread a pass to Jesus the defensive midfielder decided to try his luck from range which he sliced wide of the mark.
33' CLOSE! Great work from Insigne on the right to craft an opportunity for Napoli by crossing to the back post, but Ederson was aware to the danger and rushed off his line to beat Callejon to the ball.
31' A rare attack into City's half from Napoli, but Mertens and Callejon fail to forge a change at goal before the referee accidentally blocks a pass from Diawara.
29' OFF THE LINE! City are knocking on the door for a third as a cross into the middle falls into the path of Jesus, who managed to hack a shot towards goal on the turn, but Koulibaly hooked the ball off the line to keep it 2-0!
28' CROSSBAR! De Bruyne almost extended Manchester City's lead in emphatic fashion as the ball was laid off to the Belgian on the edge of the box, but the attacking midfielder's effortt cannons off the crossbar.
26' The willingness to win the ball back for the home side is proving the real difference this evening. Napoli are finding it hard to advance out of their half without a long pass because the hosts are pressing so hard and fast.
24' Fernandinho is playing a simple yet effective role for the hosts this evening. The Brazilian is playing deep to collect possession from the defenders to feed Silva and De Bruyne to launch attacks for the home side.
22' Napoli are attempting to take the sting out City's sublime attacking play. Sarri's men have been superb in Serie A this season, but have not been able to cope with the hosts thus far.
19' A huge tackle from Albiol has prevented City from another glorious opportunity! The former Real Madrid defender put his body on the line to stop Sane from squaring to Jesus for another easy tap-in.
17' Walker's wayward pass almost allows Mertens to nip in ahead of Stones, but the defence sticks out a foot and retains possession for the home side.
15' It's going to be a long evening for Napoli if Manchester City continue to perform like this. The hosts look capable of scoring with every attack at the moment.
13' Hysaj managed to get himself into a spot of bother that saw him dispossessed by Jesus, who has been a constant menace to the full-back. However, eventually the defender recovered to put the ball out for a corner.
K. De Bruyne
Assist
13' De Bruyne shows why he's one of the best midfielders in the world, possibly the most creative, with a fantastically weighted pass to find Jesus at the back post.
Gabriel Jesus
Goal
13' GOAL! Manchester City are exerting their authority over the Italian league leaders. Jesus found himself with an easy tap in at the back post for an open goal following a fantastic cross to make it 2-0.
11' The goal just goes to show how potent both of these sides can be. With just one glimpse of goal Manchester City take the lead and with Napoli scoring in 100% of their away matches this season it may not be the last we see this evening.
R. Sterling
Goal
9' GOAL! Manchester City take the lead through Sterling inside ten minutes! Walker found his shot blocked by Koulibaly, but his effort fell to the English winger who was able to tap home an open goal.
7' Napoli are playing a compact, deep midfield to try and combat the playmaking ability of David Silva and De Bruyne who have been playing brilliantly for Manchester City in their previous outings.
5' Man City are in control of the ball right now as Guardiola's side attempt to play the match at their tempo and dictate the match. The home side are looking to command the match and starve the visitors of possession.
3' Napoli are coming in to this match with attacking intentions, as whilst there hasn't been any action in front of goal yet, Mertens, Callejon and Insigne are pressing high.
1' The game is underway!
Guardiola has opted for zero changes to the side which demolished Stoke City on the weekend, and Aguero is still only fit enough for the bench. However, Napoli have decided to make two changes, bringing in Zielinski and Diawara to the starting XI.
Subs: Allan, Maggio, Maksimovic, Sepe, Rog, Ounas, Jorginho.
Napoli (4-3-3): Reina; Ghoulam, Koulibaly, Albiol, Hysaj; Hamsik, Diawara, Zielinski; Insigne, Mertens, Callejon.
Subs: Bravo, Danilo, Gundogan, Aguero, Mangala, Bernado Silva, Toure.
Man City (4-3-3): Ederson; Delph, Otamendi, Stones, Walker; David Silva, Fernandinho, De Bruyne; Sane, Jesus, Sterling.
Napoli are taking the Serie A by storm this season and have failed to drop a point in eight matches. With a 100% scoring record on the road, Maurizio Sarri’s side will be heading to the Etihad Stadium without any fear but they could be in for a difficult evening.
Manchester City come into this fixture off the back of an emphatic 7-2 win against Stoke City, even without Sergio Aguero who recently got injured in a car crash. However, this is the Citizens’ biggest test of the season as they host the Italians.
