Commentary

That is all for tonight folks and thanks once again for joining us. Goodbye!
Inter will now look towards the top of the table as they try to keep pace with league-leaders Juventus but Milan will go back to the drawing board. Gattuso's side are already 13 points off the top and they have plenty of work to do in the attacking department.
Icardi is the hero as his stoppage-time header seals victory for Inter against arch-rivals Milan. The second half was not as entertaining as the first 45 minutes, but it was another intense derby battle in this famous Serie A fixture. Both teams had goals disallowed for offside, with replays showing the decisions were correct. Milan were far too defensive, and they were eventually punished but that is a cruel way to lose in such an important game.
90' + 7' FULL-TIME: Inter 1-0 Milan.
90' + 6' It is cleared by Inter and that will be the end of the game!

90' + 2' GOAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!! Inter 1-0 Milan - Icardi is the hero as he scores with a minute to go. The Inter fans inside the stadium go wild as the striker heads into an empty net. He stayed in between Musacchio and Romagnoli before Donnarumma tried to catch the cross but Icardi is on hand to tap home. Incredible scenes in Milan.

90' Three minutes of stoppage time given at the end of the second half...will we get a winner?
87' Inter are dominating possession but they are being forced back into their own half.
85' Five minutes remaining in this Milan derby and neither side look like scoring at the minute as they both continue to cancel each other out. Inter have been the better of the two teams in the second half but Milan continue to defend with plenty of guts and determination.

Yellow Card
Milan
61' Suso is in the book after he pulls back Asamoah.
60' There hasn't been a single red card given in the last nine Serie A Milan derbies and that may soon become 10 because the strong challenges have dried up in the second half.
58' Nervous moment as Donnarumma is slow to react to a back pass but he eventually gets there to clear any danger.
57' CHANCE! Inter work the ball into the box but Politano can only volley wide at the far post. Many inside the stadium believe that should have been on target.
54' Higuain continues to be a passenger in this game but Gattuso will be determined to leave him out there. He knows the forward could net the winner at any minute but the players behind him need to use him wisely.
52' Valero is the latest Inter player to fire wide as he gets his bearings wrong on the edge of the box. Gattuso continues to shout out more instructions but his team have yet to get going in the second half so far.
49' Milan launch a counter-attack before Suso is brought down and Inter then launch an attack of their own. Perisic tries his luck from the edge of the box but he is denied by a strong block.
48' Inter make a strong start after winning a corner but Milan clear with ease.
46' We are back underway in Milan.
Milan need to bring Higuain into the game more if they want to improve their chances of scoring but Inter are doing a good job of keeping him quiet. Inter are just letting themselves down in the final third but an entertaining second half is expected.
The referee brings the first half to a close and it is somehow still goalless. Both teams have had a goal disallowed for offisde as well as a number of chances to open the scoring. Inter have looked sharp in defence but Milan are certaintly leaving their mark on the home side with three yellow cards already.

Borja Valero
R. Nainggolan
Internazionale
30' Valero is now on for Nainggolan after he fails to shake his injury off.
29' Inter's fans are starting to get a little restless now and they believe they are not getting the rub of the green when it comes to 50/50 free-kick calls.
27' The referee waved play on after that incident but Nainggolan appears to be indicating he wants to come off after walking to the sideline.
26' Boos ring around the stadium as Biglia brings down Nainggolan again and he needs to be careful due to his yellow card.

17' Kessie wastes a good opportunity after producing a late run into the Inter box. He leans back when volleying and a goal-kick is given.
15' We have our first break in play as Kessie is brought down by Brozovic but the free-kick is not in a dangerous position.
14' Milan concede a corner after a clearance from Romagnoli and Politano tests Donnarumma in the Milan goal. He tried to catch the keeper off guard with an inswinging corner but the Italy international was on hand to punch the ball away from danger.
12' GOAL DISALLOWED!! Inter celebrate as Icardi volleys home at the far post but the flag is up for offside straight away. Vecino was the man who flicked a header into his path but it remains 0-0.
9' WIDE - Milan launch a counter-attack and Calhanoglu eventually tries his luck from the edge of the box. The playmaker fails to connect with the ball cleanly and Handanovic watches it fly past his near post.
6' Inter have reacted well to that Suso chance and they are now building out from the back and keeping possession.
4' CHANCE – Inter fail to clean their lines and Gattuso’s men pile forward with plenty of attacking intent. Suso is the first player to the loose clearance but his shot creeps past the near post.
2' The atmosphere inside the San Siro is deafening and it is expected to stay that way until the end of the 90 minutes. Spalletti and Gattuso embraced before kick- off but it is now down to business.
