Having parted ways with Teddy Sheringham, defending champions ATK will be hoping interim manager Ashley Westwood starts off on a good note when they take on Chennaiyin FC at home on Thursday.

ATK are coming into this game after being ripped apart by FC Pune City while their opponents are also coming off a loss, away to NorthEast United FC.

The Kolkata-based side's season has spluttered and has never took off and are now in danger of failing to reach the playoff stage for the first time in the history of the ISL. They are currently in eighth spot in the table and are seven points adrift of the top-four with eight games left to play this season.

In the absence of Robbie Keane, who is injured, ATK have struggled to score goals and have netted just the four goals in their previous six games. Westwood's primary task will be to get his team firing up front again.

Chennaiyin FC, placed second on the table, trail league leaders Bengaluru FC by just one point and can go top of the league with a win on Thursday. The Marina Machans wil be buoyed by the return of coach John Gregory in the dugout after a three-game touchline ban.

The Englishman will want to ensure his side does not lose focus, with Chennaiyin FC well placed to qualify for the playoff spots. Chennaiyin FC and ATK both play tight games in defence but the away side has creativity in their midfield and that could be the difference on the night.
