    Bafana keep knockout hopes alive

Stuart Baxter's men needed a win in order to give themselves some hope of progression into the knockout stages of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Bafana Bafana beat Namibia 1-0 as Bongani Zungu took advantage of shambolic defending from a corner kick and headed home.

It was a much-improved performance from Bafana compared to the Ivory Coast defeat, and here are some statistics from the match.

    Bafana dominate in attack

Against Ivory Coast Bafana failed to find the target, but against the Namibians, there was no such issue.

South Africa had seven shots on target while Namibia had just one. Of Bafana's seven shots on target, six were saves by the keeper.

    Baxter men love the ball

While the scoreline might not reflect this, Bafana dominated possession. Baxter's troops enjoyed 61.1% of the ball.

They also had 695 touches while Nambia only had 482.

The 29-year-old made 54 successful passes on the night.
