Following Bafana Bafana's first win at Afcon 2019, Goal analyses the players' performances

    Darren Keet

7/10 -  The Bidvest Wits keeper was preferred to Ronwen Williams despite the latter's superb performance against Ivory Coast and he gave a good account of himself.

Keet rarely put a foot wrong, dealt with the aerial threat superbly and made one or two notable saves to keep Bafana in the match.

    Thamsanqa Mkhize

6/10 - The full-back continues to show why he is so highly regarded as he put on another workmanlike showing.

Defensively he was resilient but perhaps a bit quiet going forward, he would eventually come off with a knock with just over 20 minutes to go.

    Buhle Mkhwanazi

7/10 - Mkhwanazi continued from where he left off in the first game as he was immense in the heart of the defence.

He also made a superb last-ditch block on the line that denied Namibia what looked a certain goal.

    Thulani Hlatshwayo

7/10 - The captain hardly put a foot wrong and marshalled his defence with aplomb, communicating well with Mkhwanazi.

    S'fiso Hlanti

5/10 - Bafana's left-back was perhaps their weakest link particularly in the first half. He struggled with his crossing often overcooking his crosses and making the wrong decisions in the final third.

Defensively though he put in a solid showing.

    Hlompho Kekana

7/10 - The Sundowns veteran came in for the injured Dean Furman and his introduction did allow for a more attack-minded Bafana although he did not bring the defensive attributes of the SuperSport United midfielder to the heart of the park.

He unleashed a few trademarked long-ranged shots on goal but did not really test the Namibia keeper.

    Bongani Zungu

7/10 - Zungu made his first appearance at Afcon 2019 and scored the winning goal with a header from a set-piece.

His creativity in the midfield was also a big thorn in Namibia's plans.

    Percy Tau

7/10 - While Tau may not have had his best game in front of goal, he never stopped working and eventually walked away with the man of the match award for his troubles.

    Themba Zwane

7/10 - Against Ivory Coast, Zwane left much to be desired but against Namibia he found redemption.

His creativity and short passing game was at times unplayable.

    Sibusiso Vilakazi

6/10 - By introducing 'Vila' to the Bafana starting XI, Bafana had a player who was not shy to hold the ball and take on players up front.

Although Vilakazi caused danger on a few occasions, Namibia had an answer to all his threats.

    Lebo Mothiba

6/10 - The attacker would be disappointed as he is yet to find the back of the net.

He made a nuisance of himself in and around the box but just seemed to lack the adequate service to trouble the Namibians.

    Ramahlwe Mphahlele

6/10 - Came on for Mkhize in the second half but did little to assert himself on the game.

    Kamohelo Mokotjo

The England-based midfielder was introduced late on in order to bring stability in the middle of the park but was not on the field long enough to be rated.

    Lars Veldwijk

Veldwijk was forced to settle for another short cameo appearance as he came on for Vilakazi in the dying embers of the game.

He was not on the field long enough to be rated.
