The Brazilian football icon joined the rest of the world to applaud the Portuguese after he was named best Fifa men’s player

Twitter went into a frenzy after Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo was named Best FIFA Men’s Player of 2016-17.

The 32-year-old took home the award for the second year in row, after edging Neymar and Lionel Messi at the awards ceremony in London.

Ronaldo 15/8 fav to be CL top scorer

In the year under review, Ronaldo led the Blancos to a La Liga and Champions League double, including two goals in the Champions League final against Juventus. 

Twitter fell over itself to applaud the forward with Pele leading the charge.
