Women’s Afcon hosts Ghana hunting for new coach

Ghana women team are on the search for a new coach, eleven months to hosting the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, following the departure of Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
The former Asante Kotoko boss, who was only appointed coach of the Black Queens in May last year, is set for a new challenge in Denmark, according to Ghana Football Association technical director Francis OtiAkenteng.
“Didi Dramani has resigned from his post to take up a coaching job in Denmark, the club is FC Nordsjaelland,” Akenteng has told Asempa FM.

“He will be the assistant coach at the first team for the next two years, he is taking over from Otto Addo who has returned to Germany.”
The identity of Dramani’s Ghana replacement is currently unclear.
However, reports say assistant coach Mercy Tagoe, who has been asked to temporarily take charge of the team, is tipped to be handed the job permanently.
“We held a meeting on Wednesday, but a decision [about the long-term successor] is yet to be taken,” Akenteng revealed.
The Black Queens are expected to assemble for camping in the coming days ahead of next month’s Wafu Women’s Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, having been drawn against the hosts, Niger and Burkina Faso in Group A.
The 2018 Women’s Afcon, meanwhile, runs between November 17 and December 1.
