The Nations Cup gold medalist set Angers on their way to their third consecutive victory with a headed effort after sneaking in at the near post from a Thomas Mangani corner to open the scoring in the 18th minute.
This was the 24-year-old’s first goal since 17 September 2016 and his third of the current season.
Ekambi could have easily grabbed a hat trick in the game as he was denied his second by the woodwork in the 49th minute before racing onto a through ball minutes later only to send his effort wide.
But he eventually managed to get a brace when he converted his second of the night in the 58th minute after latching onto Abdoulaye Bamba's cross to double his and his team's tally.
Bastia, who had captain Yannick Cahuzac sent off for traipsing were dealt a further blow when Gregory Bourillon touched a Mangani corner into the net to extend Les Scoistes’ lead.
Angers are now six points clear of the relegation zone, Bastia five points adrift of safety and are now without a win in eight league matches.
This was Ekambi’s second match for Stephane Moulin’s team since being crowned an African champion.
