The People’s Elephant’s striker has stressed that they are doing everything possible to ensure they pip Raja to the final ticket

Enyimba’s Stephen Chukwude has reiterated his conviction that the People’s Elephant still have what it takes to bounce back from their home loss and qualify for the final of the Caf Confederation Cup ahead of their return leg clash with Raja Casablanca.

Abdelhalid Hafidi’s 48th-minute strike at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba handed Raja an early advantage ahead of the second leg tie billed for Casablanca on October 24.

But Chukwude who scored twice in their 6-1 warm-up victory over Ngwa United FC said that they are positive about their chances and have been training very hard to enable them to bear whatever it takes for them to secure the needed result that will take them to the final.

He hinted that so many issues including fatigue led to their home loss but that they have overcome them now and are eagerly waiting for the tie which they are optimistic will turn in their favour.

“It was a good win and the best way to tell our opponents that we are getting prepared for the second leg and that we are intimidated,” Chukwude told Goal.

“We used the games with Enyimba Feeders and Ngwa United FC to test our readiness and I can confidently say that we are almost set for Raja. The emphatic win in the second game was to tell our fans that we have forgotten about our home loss and are poised to get the needed result in Casablanca.

“I am happy that I was able to score two goals against Ngwa United and I am praying that I am able to make the difference also in Casablanca. This game is very important for us and we shall do everything possible to advance to the final.”
