Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has praised midfielder Victor Wanyama’s performance in his return to action after four months in the sidelines.

Wanyama helped Spurs to secure three points against Swansea last Tuesday, after making his much-awaited return from a nagging injury.

Spurs boss was left with a smiling face more so that his prized asset, the Kenyan captain made his return to action in the second half.

“I'm so pleased for Victor as well. He played well,” Pochettino told Spurs official website.“He's had a lot of months out and I'm happy to see him back again.”

Wanyama came in as a second-half substitute against Swansea, replacing Davinson Sanchez with half an hour to play.

Spurs are currently fifth with 41 points, 21 points adrift of leaders Manchester City.

Wanyama is expected to play in an FA tie against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.
