Singida United are increasingly confident they will secure a deal to keep the reportedly free agent Mudathir Yahaya at the Namfua Stadium on a permanent basis.
The midfielder joined Singida United on season long loan from Azam during the summer transfer window.
However Azam have confirmed that the player's contract has indeed ended and there are currently no ongoing discussions on bringing the player back to the Chamazi Complex.
Talks between the Singida based club and player’s agent have been progressing and the team Chief Executive Officer, Festo Sanga believes he is close to agreeing terms to remain in the team permanently.
Speaking to Goal, Sanga said that the discussions are going well and they are fully confident of agreeing terms with Mudathir because the player himself wants to remain in Singida.
“We are going very well with our discussions and for sure we will sign him by any means because he (Mudathir) wants to remain with us,” said Sanga.
Apart from Singida United, other suiters who have been linked with a move to sign Mudathir is Yanga and Simba.
