Tanzanian clubs, Simba, Yanga and Singida United and JKU from Zanzibar have landed another chance to fight for an opportunity to play Everton this time at the Goodison Park, England.
However, that chance will not come easy as they need to fight against Kenyan giants Gor Mahia, AFC Leopard, Kariobangi Sharks and Kakamega Homeboys in the SportPesa Super Cup.
The tournament will take place in Kenya at the Moi stadium from June 3 to 10. In its first season, the tournament took place in Dar es Salaam were Gor Mahia won the title after beating their compatriots AFC Leopard in the Mashemeji Derby.
Gor Mahia went on to play Everton who came to East Africa with a full squad including Wayne Rooney who was at thet time a new signing at the club.
This time the K’Ogalo will be seeking another chance to repeat the same but they have to battle with Tanzania’s giants Simba and Yanga who surely will need that chance to play at the Goodison Park.
Simba who are the newly crowned Tanzanian champions will head into the tournament in good sprits with their confidence and morale sky high while Yanga who are in the group stage of CAF Confederation Cup will also pose a threat.
