AFC Leopards coach Rodolfo Zapata is optimistic that his team will fight and win the league title next season.
Gor Mahia successfully defended their crown on Saturday after defeating their bitter rivals 2-0 in the Mashemeji Derby staged at Kasarani. Zapata has congratulated the Green Army for winning a record 17th title but promised a tougher outing next season.
“Gor Mahia has been a better side, they have a consistent program with players and coaches and we are working on the same. Things did not work out well for us this season, but the good thing is that the chemistry is almost there. We will fight for the league next season for sure.
“These players are talented and have what it takes to do better if they are maintained and guided well. We are almost there for sure,” Zapata told Goal.
The last time AFC Leopards won the league title was way back in 1998.
