Rivers United's Eguma aims to exploit Abia Warriors' lapses

After their first leg defeat in Umuahia a week ago, the Pride of Rivers are hoping for a revenge against the Uchendu Warriors

Rivers United head coach Stanley Eguma has revealed that Abia Warriors have lapses that can be worked on when both teams meet at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium on Sunday.

Ndifreke Effiong and Samson Obi's efforts saw the Pride of Rivers suffer their eighth defeat this season as Emmanuel Deutsch's side secured their first win in six matches in Umuahia a week ago.

However, the gaffer, who was disappointed with his side's first leg setback, said that they will be better prepared to have our own pound of flesh this term in Port Harcourt.

“We lost the [first leg] match because our opponents had a better first half than us,” Eguma told media.

“Abia Warriors are a good side and I believe that we will be very prepared for this game [reverse fixture].

“We have seen them and will work on (exploiting) their lapses and ensure that we get a better performance in (Port Harcourt).”

A win over Deutsch's side at the Garden City may see the climb to the top four places in the Nigerian top-flight log.
