Zapata is the third coach to handle Ingwe this season after Robert Matano and Dennis Kitambi, and it seems something is not going well off the pitch.
A source privy to happenings at the Den has intimated to Goal that the tactician is not happy with the attitudes of some of the NEC members and that the situation could get out of hand if something is not done soon.
“Yes, there were reports that the coach might consider leaving and to be honest it is not far from the fact. He, Zapata, is not happy with some members of the NEC, who cannot distinguish between being a fan and an official.
“Instead, of focusing on the development and the quality of the game, they are focusing on short term results; if we win they are up there celebrating, and if we lose they are the first ones to point blame fingers.
“The coach is happy with chairman, Dan Mule, who has remained professional in this matter, with an objective of helping the team do better in the near future.”
AFC Leopards is currently placed fifth on the log with thirty-nine points.
