Former Orlando Pirates coach and current Maritzburg United trainer Roger De Sa rates Kaizer Chiefs highly in the race for this season's PSL title.

The 52-year-old tactician is busy preparing his Team of Choice troops for their league clash with Amakhosi at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday night.

“They are without doubt title contenders and on fire right now," De Sa told the Daily Sun.

De Sa, who was appointed Maritzburg coach last month, took charge of his first game in midweek as they drew 1-1 with Polokwane City away, while Chiefs overcame Free State Stars 3-1 at home.

"I watched them beat Free State Stars 3-1 in midweek and they look good, especially Shabba (Siphiwe Tshabalala), who is on a high," he said.

"So we will have to put the disappointment of dropping two points against Polokwane behind us and move on," he added.

“I have some really good youngsters that I’m blooding. But Chiefs will be a huge test, as will our next match away to leaders SuperSport United (22 February)."

“So, I reckon the top six places are already booked, but I believe we can squeeze in at seventh or eight position,” he concluded.
