Having proved a reasonably tough nut to crack recently, Al Hain-Cole is backing Garande's team to force Les Parisiens to work hard for their goals

Paris Saint-Germain will be hoping to sign off for the winter break on a high when they welcome Caen to the Parc des Princes for Wednesday's Ligue 1 clash.

Nine points clear at the top after dropping just seven points from the first available 54, Les Parisiens are heavy 1/14 (1.07) favourites with bet365 to end the year on a positive note with 13th home win from 13 this season.

In contrast, Patrice Garande's team has won just once in eight fixtures, and is available at 28/1 (29.00) to pull off a shock victory in this one.

The guests did actually secure a 1-1 draw when they last visited this ground back in May, and you can get odds of 11/1 (12.00) on them earning a share of the spoils once again here.

Although it took place on the final day of a league season which had already seen Unai Emery's side surrender the title to Monaco, that 1-1 draw in May was the second time in three trips to the capital in which SMC have claimed a point.

While another impressive result seems unlikely considering the leaders' 100 per cent record on home turf in all competitions this campaign, the team from Normandy may at least back themselves to put up a decent fight.

Despite their poor recent run, Garande's men have rarely been thrashed this season - with only Montpellier and PSG themselves conceding fewer than their 18 goals in 18 games.

Usually setting themselves up in a defensive formation that includes five across the back, Caen have proved rather difficult to break down for their opponents so far.

With 10 of the 13 goals they have conceded on the road arriving after the break, odds of 10/11 (1.91) seem like solid value on the home supporters being forced to remain patient in a match that features the majority of goalmouth action in the second half.
