The Chilli Boys initially announced the 26-year-old shot-stopper's signing on Sunday through the club's chairman Siviwe 'Chppa' Mpengesi.
However, Mhlongo's agent Mike Makaab of Prosport International, dismissed the news as he quickly took to social media to deny Mpengesi’s claims.
Makaab did not confirm or deny whether the 26-year-old shot-stopper will be staying with the Buccaneers ahead of the upcoming 2017/18 campaign.
Mhlongo's future at Pirates became uncertain after he lost his in the team's starting line-up last season
