The 26-year-old has been on the radar of the biggest clubs in South Africa including reigning PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns since last year.
This was after Motshwari established himself as one of the top central midfielders in the PSL - helping Wits finish second in the league last season.

Motshwari also walked away with the 2015/16 Goal of the Season accolade at the PSL awards. His goal was in Wits' 3-1 win over Chippa United in Port Elizabeth in January 2016.
This season, Motshwari has fallen down the pecking order at the Braamfontein-based since the arrival of fellow central midfielders Thabang Monare and Granwald Scott.
However, recent reports have indicated that Wits are still unwilling to part ways with Motshwari, who is highly-rated by the club's head coach Gavin Hunt.
It is believed that the Clever Boys are aware of the interest from Pirates and Sundowns in the hard-working central midfielder.
The two Gauteng giants are also expected to make approach Wits for Motshwari during the upcoming July-August Transfer Window period.
He has made 12 league appearances for PSL title chasing Wits this season.
