Ode Fulutudilu opens Spanish Superliga goal account as Malaga hold Espanyol

The South African helped the Blue and Whites' ladies avoid losing their third defeat in a row with her first goal in Spain

Ode Fulutudilu scored her first Spanish Superliga goal in Malaga's 1-1 draw with Espanyol at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque on Sunday.

The South Africa international struck early in the second half to cancel out Eli Del Estal's opener as the visitors escaped a third straight defeat.

Del Estal fired Espanyol in front six minutes before half time, but the 29-year-old's effort four minutes after the restart ensured both teams shared the spoils.

Fulutudilu, who was on her second appearance was in action for the opening 63 minutes, while substituted Cameroon's Gaelle Enganamouit played the last 12 minutes of the game.

The draw keeps Malaga inside the relegation zone as they sit in the 15th place on the log with 16 points from 20 games - tied with 14th placed Logrono.

The Banyana forward will be eager to consolidate on her goalscoring form when Antonio Contreras' side host EDF Logrono in a relegation battle on Wednesday.
