Nzoia Sugar have condemned crowd trouble witnessed on Saturday that left three of their officials injured in Muhoroni.

In a signed statement obtained by Goal, the new comers have vowed to continue supporting their team despite the barbaric incident at Muhoroni Stadium. The club's statement comes just hours, after Football Kenya Federation moved to ban Muhoroni Stadium from hosting league matches until further notice.

"I condemn in the strongest terms possible the barbaric attack on Nzoia Fans while cheering their team at Muhoroni. Nzoia Fans shall continue to support the team and promise to attend all its matches both local and international.

Muhoroni Stadium now banned from hosting league matches

The statement added, "No amount of intimidation both psychological and physical will deter our resolve to cheer Nzoia Sugar Fc. I wish Mzee Mike quickest recovery as well as Team Manager Evans Kadenge who was roughed up by hooligans in the name of Muhoroni fans. Mike suffered a deep cut in the head.

"I also wish Nzoia Fc Chair Brian Keya a speedy recovery following the barbaric attack. I urge football lovers to take caution while visiting Muhoroni grounds which is a den of slaughter, mayhem and violence."

FKF have now ordered Muhoroni Youth to provide an alternative venue for upcoming league matches. "The club (Muhoroni) is therefore, advised to immediately inform the KPL of the new venue where it will host its matches so that its fixtures can be adjusted accordingly and other clubs notified of the changes," CEO Robert Muthomi confirmed.

"Further please note that the federation took a very serious position in regards to hooliganism and violence in Kenyan Football. The regulations which were passed stipulated severe penalties for clubs whose fans or officials are found responsible and the federation may apply these sanctions to Muhoroni Youth FC.
