Ahead of final clash with Flying Antelopes in Asaba, the forward has set his sights on inspiring the Sai Masu Gida side to title glory

Nwagua Nyima has revealed his desire to help Kano Pillars to secure Federation Cup title when they face five-time winners Enugu Rangers at the Stephen Keshi Stadium on Wednesday.

The Sai Masu Gida boys are in search of their second title in history, having last won it in 1953 and would be hoping to subdue Flying Antelopes in the bid to end a 55-year wait in Asaba.

After squeezing past Katsina United to final, the forward reflects on their incredible journey in the competition and has reiterated their determination to end the season with a title success.

“I am grateful to God for helping me reach my first ever final in the Federation Cup,” Nyima told Goal.

“We’ve had a rough journey from the early rounds through to the group phase and as well the knockout stages too. It was a wonderful result and great performance we had against Katsina United in the semi-final.

"I think that we deserved to win because we have given our all in previous games and we really want to win the Cup.

“I must admit that our progress to the final was not because we are a good side but it is God's time. Through various stages, we have improved game by game and even came out with the slogan that ‘we never wan go house’ and here are we.

“Against Enugu Rangers, our coach has really helped us well with his tactics which is pressing high and having possession of the ball. Winning on Wednesday will be a plus to my career and boost to my CV and as well a huge appreciation of the support of the good people of Kano.

“We will do everything humanly possible to make the Kano people happy. We want to make history for the club as it first ever winner of the Federation Cup in 55 years.”
