The Peace Boys were resolute in their handling of the second string national team to settle for a share of the spoils

Nigeria B were forced to a 0-0 draw by Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Plateau United in Wednesday's LMC Super 6 encounter at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Salisu Yusuf's men were playing in their opening fixture of the invitational tournament against the Peace Boys who had already played out a 1-1 draw with 10-man Enyimba in Monday's group opener.

The national side laid the marker for the encounter after veteran midfielder Rabiu Alli's early effort was denied by the woodwork. Kennedy Boboye's side played second fiddle in the tie as the Super Eagles B always looked to have the initiative, but were halted by the league champions' resolute defending.

Tough-playing defender Adeleye Olamilekan forced the Eagles' handler to an early change after he sustained an injury with Kalu Orji brought on as replacement.

A pair of chances to give the Eagles the lead from Moses Eneji was sandwiched by a Joshua Obaje's effort for the Jos side. But he was denied by captain Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

After the interval, the Eagles remained on the front foot but were met by a determined Plateau to end the tie a 0-0 draw.

With the result, Boboye's side go top of the three-team group after gathering two points from two games, while the CHAN Eagles are at the base of the log.
