Nigeria's Echiejile 'honoured' ahead of maiden World Cup appearance

After 2014's disappointment, the Monaco left-back finally has the chance to represent his country at the global showpiece

Elderson Echiejile feels 'honoured' to play for Nigeria at the 2018 Fifa World Cup.

The 30-year-old made up for his initial loss after missing out on the chance to represent the three-time African Champions at Brazil 2014 through injury.

Alongside Brian Idowu, Echiejile heads to Russia as one of Gernot Rohr's left-back.

And the Super Eagles' no. 3 took to Instagram to share the official team picture, captioned: "Nigeria, it is an honour to serve you."
