The Super Eagles, on the back of unimpressive run in pre-tournament friendlies, face Zlatko Dalic's side at the Kaliningrad Stadium on Saturday evening.
And their other Group D opponents played out a 1-1 stalemate, with Iceland silencing Lionel Messi-led La Albiceleste at the Spartak Stadium earlier in the afternoon, but the former Flying Eagles coach insists Gernot Rohr's men must avoid 'distractions'.
“We are all aware the Eagles did not perform well in most of the friendly matches they played before the start of the World Cup but it is not the right time to dissect that now,” Obuh told Goal .
“The Eagles must focus their attention on Croatia alone. They must forget about Iceland and Argentina for now because it will only create distractions. They must try to slow them down and utilize the few chances they have in the game.
“I believe the Eagles have a chance against the Croats but they must be determined and remain united if they are to get a result against them. They are the better team on paper but that can easily change on the pitch because it will be 11 players apiece.”
