United have been perfect under their interim boss but face their toughest test so far against the man who heads the market to take over permanently

Four consecutive Premier League wins has seen Manchester United re-enter the race for a top four finish this term.

Under Jose Mourinho the Red Devils had drifted to 14/1 (15.0) to achieve that milestone but since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over, that price has been cut to 3/1 (4.0). The squad is looking revitalised under the Norwegian ahead of a testing run of fixtures, including a Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain next month.

Having been appointed on an interim basis until the end of the campaign, Solskjaer is also 5/2 (3.50) with bet365 to still be in charge on September 1 2019. This market is essentially regarding who will take over permanently at Old Trafford.

While Solskjaer has made an impressive start back at the club where he scored 91 goals as a player, the 45-year-old isn't the front runner to succeed Mourinho on a permanent basis according to the online bookmaker.

Mauricio Pochettino has been heavily linked with the role and remains 13/8 (2.63) favourite in bet365's market ahead of Tottenham's clash with United at Wembley this weekend. These prices can be found in the Premier League section by selecting "Competition Specials".

The Argentine signed a new five-year contract at Spurs in May and despite their move back to a re-built White Hart Lane inching closer, the bookmakers clearly feel he is still in pole position to be in charge of Manchester United by next season.

The hosts are Evens (2.0) to beat United on Sunday afternoon with another victory for the visitors available at 5/2 (3.50). The draw is 13/5 (3.60) at the time of writing.

With a lack of transfer activity likely to continue this month as the London club put the finishing touches to their new home, Pochettino has cut a frustrated figure at times but it remains to be seen whether he would be keen on discussing a move elsewhere in the summer.
"One thing is to reduce the gap with the top four, to be competitive, to create a team capable of fighting with the big sides. But if after we want to win titles we need to operate in a different way," the 46-year-old said earlier this week.

Pochettino - who has been linked with any potential vacancy at Real Madrid - has also stated his desire to continue at Tottenham boss in recent days, so United may be forced to look elsewhere depending on his availability.

Zinedine Zidane is 9/1 (10.0) to be in charge at Old Trafford on September 1 with Juventus boss Max Allegri also a 9/1 (10.0) shot. Former United player Laurent Blanc is 16/1 (18.0) whilst Diego Simeone is priced at 18/1 (19.0).
