With Kane out injured, Al Hain-Cole expects Southgate's men to struggle for a breakthrough against an Oranje side also lacking star quality up front

New Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman will get his tenure underway with a high-profile friendly clash against England at the Amsterdam ArenA on Friday.

The 55-year-old is his country's fourth manager in four years, taking over after Dick Advocaat resigned following his failure to secure World Cup qualification.

Latest Odds

Having spent most of the last four seasons managing in the Premier League with Southampton and Everton, he is available at 6/4 (2.50) with dabblebet to get off to a winning start against familiar opposition.

The Three Lions have won just once in 13 meetings between these sides, but are on offer at 9/5 (2.80) to give their World Cup preparations a boost with an impressive victory here.

Both of the guests' last two matches have resulted in goalless draws, and you can get odds of 21/10 (3.10) on them playing out yet another stalemate in this one.

Team News

Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder both announced their retirement following the unsuccessful World Cup qualification campaign, making way for the new guard.

The latest squad features Patrick Kluivert's son Justin and AZ Alkmaar's Guus Til among the five uncapped players.

Nick Pope, Alfie Mawson, James Tarkowski and Lewis Cook are the four potential debutants in Gareth Southgate's experimental squad, which is missing the injured Harry Kane.

Defences on top

After playing out two consecutive 0-0 draws, Southgate's men look even less likely to provide much entertainment in front of goal without the services of Kane.

The Tottenham striker is the only player to find the net for England in the last four matches, although they have at least kept a clean sheet in each of those games.

This bodes well for keeping at bay a strikeforce that looks distinctly lacking in star quality compared to recent Oranje teams.

Indeed, ex-Manchester United winger Memphis Depay is the only Dutch striker to have scored a goal in one of Europe's top five leagues this season.

Predictions

With the Netherlands having kept three successive clean sheets themselves, odds of 17/20 (1.85) seem generous on England playing out a sixth game in seven that does not feature goals at both ends.

Both teams to score: 'No' at 17/20 (1.85) for a 1.5pt stake with dabblebet
