The Reds have made five changes to their starting XI for Saturday evening's encounter against Antonio Conte's side at Anfield

Daniel Sturridge and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have been entrusted to terrorise Chelsea’s defence with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp opting to rest Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

The England striker lines up against his former club in his fifth league start of the season and will form the focal point of the hosts’ attack at Anfield.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, meanwhile, is in the XI for just the second time under Klopp in the top flight, earning his fourth run-out from the off overall.

The pair will operate in tandem with Mohamed Salah, who played 19 times for Chelsea, scoring twice. Both goals and 13 of those appearances came in the league.

Firmino and Mane are both held in reserve following their recent exertions, with the pair evidently tired in the second half of the 3-3 draw against Sevilla on Tuesday.

There are five changes in total from midweek for Liverpool, with James Milner replacing Gini Wijnaldum in midfield, Joel Matip returning from injury to partner Ragnar Klavan in the heart of defence and Simon Mignolet back in goal.

There is a massive boost on the bench for the Merseysiders, who have named Adam Lallana in a matchday squad for the first time this season after he recovered from a thigh problem.

Liverpool subs: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Mane, Firmino, Lallana

Chelsea, meanwhile, have restored Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Gary Cahill and Andreas Christensen to their starting XI after resting the quartet for midweek Champions League duty.
