Manchester United may be open to a move if Ivan Perisic goes the other way
Inter Milan are hoping to secure Manchester United forward Anthony Martial on loan in January, reports the Daily Star.
United were unwilling to do a deal in the summer, but could be tempted with a loan swap of Croatia international Ivan Perisic, who Jose Mourinho is believed to covet.
Unlike in years past, that players are not cap-tied in the UEFA Champions League make both clubs more amenable to a deal.
Ferguson wanted Ampadu at Man Utd
Sir Alex Ferguson wanted Manchester United to sign Ethan Ampadu as a youngster, only to have fail Ed Woodward fail to close the deal, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Ferguson watched the then 12-year-old Ampadu with the Exeter U-13s and lobbied for the Red Devils to land the youngster.
However, Ferguson stepped down that summer and Woodward and David Moyes failed to complete the deal, with Ampadu eventually landing at Chelsea.
Barella eyes Premier League switch
Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella says he wants to leave Serie A to play in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old is wanted by Roma, Juventus and AC Milan and said he had received offers in the summer, but would rather go to England.
"If I had to choose better Premier League or Serie A, I would say the English league for how they interpret the game," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter calm about Icardi contract talks
Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is confident Mauro Icardi will sign a new deal with the club.
The striker continues to be linked to a move away, with recent reports saying Jose Mourinho wants him at Manchester United.
However, Ausilio told Corriere dello Sport that discussions with the Argentine have been under way "for some time", adding: "We want to reach our goal [of renewing his deal], but the deadline is far away so it can be done calmly."

The World Cup winning midfielder has struggled to regain his place at Dortmund due to competition for places in Lucien Favre's team.
And Matthaus says he does not fit any position at Dortmund and lacks the quality to make it into the starting XI.

Frenkie de Jong has boosted speculation he is destined to join Barcelona by admitting his desire to play with Lionel Messi.
The 21-year-old midfielder had been targeted by the Catalan club in the last transfer window but the Amsterdam side were able to hold on to him.
The Catalan side are expected to return for the Netherlands international and De Jong knows he will not get many chances to make his dream partnership a reality.
"I would really like to play with Messi someday... Of course I would like to play with him. He's already 31, so I have to hurry up.”
Roma to give Under new contract
Roma are set to commit Cengiz Under to a contract extension, Corriere dello Sport reports.
The Turkey international signed a contract that lasts until 2022 when he arrived from Basaksehir last year.
The 21-year-old winger is a key part of the Serie A side, however, and the club are ready to reward him by extending his deal to 2023.
Dybala has backing of Juve boss
Paulo Dybala has seen his future at Juventus called into question once again, but Massimiliano Allegri claims the Argentine remains an important part of his plans.
